The goal today is to finish the vaka table.

It takes only a few minutes to make a story stick to help locate where to drill and hit the middle of a beam you can't see.  Make one side 3/4 inch longer than the other to locate the middle of a 2x6.  Use a scrap piece of plywood the same thickness as the table top.

Slide the stick into position and your drill will always hit the right spot.

The plywood top is screwed down onto the beam and we are ready to go.  I still have a few days before the plywood arrives so I'll build another table.  The next table will be for building the amas so it will be lighter.  I'll use 2x4s instead of 2x6s.

By having two tables I'll be able to work on two hulls at the same time.  This is possible because after doing a task on the vaka the epoxy will need time to cure.  Since I only have 2.5 months left to finish the boat, I will need to work on multiple tasks in parallel.
