The Kit Is Here!

At last, the kit is here!

David arrives bringing an early Christmas present.

A pallet full of toys.

All wrapped in plastic.

We couldn't resist laying the deck panels for the vaka and ama out on the floor just to see the shape. They look fantastic!

We stacked them up on the table. Notice that each component is labeled clearly.

This is another view from the other end of the table. Notice the large "fingers" on each component. Each interlocking section is unique to assure perfect alignment of the correct components for each panel. These fingers take the place of the typical knife edge scarf joint which is extremely hard to make, transport, and use with 4 mm material.

The vaka bulkheads are shown here. Each and every component looks absolutely perfect. The precision of the cuts is amazing.

The forms are also precision cut from very high quality MDF type material (I don't see this stuff at Home Depot).
The next task will be to sort through all the components and arrange them in the order I want to use the panels. Then I start glueing them together.
Let the fun begin!
