Organize the Parts

Before I actually start joining the planks I need to organize the parts. It's important to think one or two steps ahead throughout the building process. The components are all 8 feet or less. The finished planks are over 20 feet. I will need the planks in a certain order starting from the bottom and working up. So I need to stack the components in reverse order. As I assemble each plank it will get stacked in the order I need it with last on the bottom.

This is the stack of vaka components. The top pieces are bulkheads, coaming, and stem laminations. These will be moved to another storage location before I start joining planks. Next is the 3 parts that make up the deck. The deck is the first "plank" that will be joined and placed in the finished stack because it is the last plank I will need. I'll keep working down this stack until I finally reach the bottom planks. They will end up on the top of the finished stack and be ready for being the first planks placed in the forms.

Likewise here is the stack for the two amas. The decks are on top followed by the side and bottom components.
The weather on Friday is looking good for working with epoxy. Temperatures of about 70-75 will be perfect.
