More System Three Woes

I contacted System Three about my problems with their EZ Fillet.  According to them "We reformulated EZ-Fillet a year or so ago to improve upon its 'runnyness.'"  And they offered to send me some wood flour to thicken it.  Great.  The stuff I bought for lots of bucks is either at least a year old OR their reformulation was no good.  And I already have wood flour thank you very much!

To top it off I used their Gel Magic fomulation for the first time today.  Another fiasco if you ask me.  What the heck are these people thinking?

The blue resin is so thick it is hard to get out of the container.  The hardner isn't as bad but almost.  Again you have to use all kinds of extra stuff just to get the two parts into a mixing container.  Then after mixing in the first container you have to pour (scrape) it into another mixing container to be sure nothing is clinging to the sides.  And then your have a whopping 10 minutes before the stuff cooks off and becomes unusable.  And these people say this is easier than mixing my own.

Thankfully I was able to get the stem coated and installed before it cooked off, but I didn't have a minute to spare.

But now after all these stupid problems I have no confidence in any of their products.  Does their expensive Silver Tip laminating formulation work as advertised?  Or will it be hard to work with as well?  I've only mixed a couple of small batches and I was not impressed with its consitancy.  It seemed a little too sticky to easily wet out the fabric as advertised.

If it wasn't soooo expensive, I'd throw it all out.
