I'm continuing with all the small jobs that add up to lots of time to finish off the interior.  Today I re coated the two floor sections.  I'll give them a light sanding and one more coat before installing the hatches.

I had lots of fun cutting and shaping the bottom stern block.

The bench top band saw came in handy.  The bottom of the piece has several different angles that must be cut at least close to the shape of the hull.

This is the block after cutting on the band saw.  After this I used a belt sander for final shaping and to round over the edges.

When it fit to my satisfaction I used EZ-Fillet to glue it in.  The whole piece is precoated with epoxy.  Next step is to cover with glass tape.  It will all get a light sanding prior to primer and paint.  This block will receive the mounting screws or bolts for the bottom gudgeon.

While working on the stern block, I also setup the frames for the floor hatches.

The hatches will be recessed into the floor so they don't stick up too high.  The holes will be cut to fit the outside rim of the Bomar hatches.  These frames will be bonded to the underside of the floor panels to provide a mounting surface for the flanges on the hatches.

These are all small jobs, but they consume a lot of time.
