Making Parts

I'm still making parts to finish the vaka hull. These photos go back over the last couple of days.

This shows the top backing block on the stern after shaping. It is coated with epoxy prior to placing in position to make sure all surfaces are coated.

Now it's been placed into positon and glued in with EZ-Fillet. While that is curing I can make other parts.

This shows one of the landings for the floor being shaped on the belt sander. Having a sander this big isn't necessary, but it sure makes the job go faster.

Here I'm setting up a story stick at the far end. Once the correct slope is determined for the floor by cutting and recutting the 2x4 I can transfer the height to the bulkhead and correctly position the landings for the floor.
