Progress Slows

Client demands have impacted the number of hours I could work recently so progress has slowed somewhat.  However, I was able to get the inside of the second ama skinned last night.

Remember when I posted how well it worked to position the glass on the inside using a dry brush?  Well, I was right about static electricity being the force that kept the glass in place.  How do I know?  Because last night it was very humid due to heavy rain.  The humid air didn't allow static to build up.  My nice method for holding the glass in place didn't work at all.  I finally got the inside skinned but it took much longer than I had hoped.

I was hoping to have the outside skin on the first ama by now, but that has not happened.  Maybe tonight.

There is still a chance that I will be done in time, but the probability is dwindling.

The rudder and leeboard is being shipped today from Phil's Foils & Composites.  I can highly recommend Phil for any work on foils and composites.  He delivers on time with high quality.

The mast from Forte RTS has arrived and looks great.  I also got a carbon tube for stepping the mast.

No pictures this time since you have already seen a skinned ama.

C'mon, Chief - you haven't gotten me hooked to your building blog in order to not do the EC with it and tell me how it turned out? Your blog has all the necessary qualities of high drama - a momentous, worthy task, unforeseen complications, a tight timeline. But with all dramas, I need, no *demand* a happy end! C'mon, you know you want oto do the EC in your new boat. Get it done, all right?!
