Installing Rudder Head

Working in very small increments of time I have finally been able to get the rudder head installed on the vaka.

The rudder head is roughed in meaning that the pintals are installed which means I can now add the final laminations on both sides.  The outside layers of the rudder head have cut outs for the pintals so the rudder blade has a flat surface to rotate against.

Also the gudgeons are installed which means I have finished the aft end of the vaka so the deck can be installed there.

The next major components to be made are the upper and lower leeboard guards.  I have ordered some nice teak but it has not arrived yet.  While I am waiting for the teak I will install the last carlins and deck beams in the center section of the vaka.
